چکیده

A UTOIMMUNE HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA may complicate a wide variety of diseases, among which are infectious diseases, “collagen” diseases, benign tumors, malignant tumors, lymphomas and Hodgkin’s disease.1’2 The lymphoproliferative disorders, especially chronic lymphatic leukemia, have often been associated with abnormal immunologic mechanisms. The myeloproliferative disorders are rarely associated with similar disorders, except perhaps in the Di Guglielmo syndrome, in which immunologic abnormalities have recently been described.3 The occurrence of autoimmune hemolytic anemia has been described in very few cases of chronic granulocytic leukemia.4’5 It is our purpose to report the occurrence of autoimmune hemolytic anemia with the presence of warm agglutinins in a patient with Ph’ positive chronic granulocytic leukemia.

We present a case of a 75-year-old man in whom both diseases were present simultaneously with life-threatening bleeding. This case is an example of the successful initial management and long-...

He has no evidence of any other autoimmune disease or chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and is not taking any medications; these factors suggest idiopathic AIHA. How ...
